About Us

I am the Pastor of First United Baptist Church. I am a former member of The New Bethlehem Baptist Church.  I have served in various capacities for several years. I have a strong dedication and commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This commitment includes teaching, preaching, and church financial management. The credit for my Christian service belongs to the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace of God.

Spiritual Objective

We at First United believe in community service and love for all of God’s people. All children of God of all ages, races, creeds and colors, are welcome. Any who desire to worship, let them come.

Christian Service

  • Served as associate Minister of New Bethlehem Baptist Church for eleven years
  • Licensed to preach the gospel by New Bethlehem Baptist Church on March 28, 2011
  • Ordained February 25, 2017

Areas of Christian service include Teacher of Wednesday night bible study, Teacher of Adult Sunday school, Teacher of Sunday School for several years, Assistant Director of the Children’s Department, Teacher of the Sunday school Teachers Class, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Church former Treasurer. In addition, my skills were used to serve as, Chairperson of the Pulpit Search Committee, Chairperson of the Pastoral Installation Committee, Auditor for the West Philadelphia Baptist Congress of Christian Education, financial advisor for two area churches and former Treasurer for the Christian Fellowship Minister’s Conference.

Family Background

  • I am the son of the late Deacon Willie and Elizabeth Martin. There are five siblings, two of which are deceased. I am married to Deaconess Jacqueline R. Martin. We are the proud parents of two sons, Craig W. Martin Jr., and his wife, Erica Martin, and Emmanuel J. Martin.

  • PHD in Theology, Manna Bible College, Wilson, North Carolina

Employment

My current employment is The Budget Director, and Information Officer for the Philadelphia Sheriff’s office. Throughout my career I have held several business management positions such as Director of Credit and Collections, PGW, Administrative Officer, for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Bank Regulator for the Resolution Trust Company, and Branch Manager for a commercial Bank.
